Travel Details

Map at the Midtown area.

The workshop will be held in the Technology Square Research Building (Rooms 131/132) located at 85 5th Street NW, Atlanta GA. This building is across the street from the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.

Travel from the Airport If you arrive in Atlanta via Air, the easiest way to get into the city is to take the light rail (MARTA) to the N3 (North Avenue) or N4 (Midtown) station. From the airport, all trains head north and will pass by N3 and N4. (Cost is $1.75 one way, plus a 50c fee for a reusable RFID ticket)

Walking from N3 If you have rolling luggage and are arriving on Sunday when the Tech Trolley schedule is reduced (see below) you may wish to walk to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference center from the N3 (North Avenue) MARTA rail stop. The N3 rail station has two exits, and you want to take the one at the North side of the station (continue in the direction of travel of the train you just got off to take you to the North exit.) The north exit opens into the lobby of the AT&T (formerly BellSouth) building which opens up onto West Peachtree street at 3rd street. When you reach west peachtree street, walk north (turn left as you exit the marta station into the lobby, and then right as you exit via the revolving doors to the street). Walk north on West Peachtree (You will pass by the Center for the Visually Impaired and the Visability Store) to 5th street (the corner will be under construction, so do not cross W. Peachtree until after you pass the construction). Turn left onto 5th street at the Biltmore building and walk one block West to Spring Street. The Entrance to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference center is a revolving door at the corner of 5th streets and spring streets, on the South-West corner of the intersection. They are located across Spring street from the GT Barnes & Noble bookstore, and across 5th street from the RBC Centura Bank. Route from the North exit of the N3 station to the GT Hotel and Conference Center The distance is 4 blocks, and approximately 0.3 miles.

Tech Trolley from N4 The Georgia Tech "Tech Trolley" offers free service from the N4 (Midtown) rail station (located at the intersection of 10th street and West Peachtree street) through the GaTech campus. (The trolley boards on the south side of the station, on Peachtree Place NE.) The first stop after you board the trolley at the Midtown station is directly outside of the Technology Square Research Building. To reach the GaTech Hotel and Conference Center, walk back 1/2 block and cross the street. Note that on Sunday the Tech Trolley only operates from 3pm-9:30pm, and the frequency is every 24-30 minutes.

Wednesdays Lunch Route to Enoteca Carbonari - From the TSRB, turn left (East) onto 5th street and walk until it dead-ends with West Peachtree (At the Biltmore building). Turn right (South) onto W. Peachtree street and walk to 4th street. Turn right (East) on 4th street and walk past Cyprus street to Peachtree Street. Turn right (South) on Peachtree Street and head less than one block to Enoteca Carbonari, at 710 Peachtree Street (between 4th and 3rd streets). It is located on the west side of the street, so you do not need to cross Peachtree street. The total distance is approximately 5 blocks or 1/2 of a mile.
